Comparison
Three ways organizations answer a mandate
Most compliance programmes run on one of three models: a questionnaire platform that records what people say, a consultancy that verifies a single point in time, or spreadsheets that hold evidence until an auditor asks. DECIMA runs a fourth: evidence collected continuously from live systems and evaluated against published rules.
Each model below is described by what it produces, not by vendor name. Pick the page closest to how your programme runs today.
Pick the model closest to yours
Each page sets out what the model produces, where it holds up, and what changes when the same mandate is answered from continuous evidence.
- Questionnaire-based compliance platformsControl status is answered by people, stored as attestations, and refreshed on a review cycle.
- Point-in-time audit consultanciesAn external team samples evidence, forms a verdict for one date, and hands over a report.
- Spreadsheets and shared drivesScreenshots, exports and tickets are collected by hand into folders ahead of each assessment.

How these comparisons are written
The comparison describes categories of approach, not named products. Every claim about DECIMA is one you can check on the framework pages.
- Approaches are compared as models, so the description stays accurate as individual tools change.
- Vendor pages describe each product from its own public documentation, dated in the copy, and say plainly where that vendor is the better fit.
- DECIMA rows describe behaviour the product page and framework consoles show.
- Each page names where the other model is the better fit — a comparison that never loses is not a comparison.
